National space day in India is celebrated on August 23rd, marking the successful landing of Chandrayaan -3’s Vikram Lander and Pragyan Rover on the Lunar South pole. This achievement Showcases our Nation’s advancements in space exploration and technology.
Through Chandrayaan missions which is essentially an exploration program, demonstrating capabilities in soft landing and Rover operations.
It was our first prime minister’s foresight that the Indian Space Research Organisation has gained recognition for its efficient and budget friendly launches for our beloved nation and for the cosmopolitan world.
India has developed advanced Satellite systems for communication, navigation and Earth observation.
India’s space program has fostered partnership with international space agencies and organisations.
In the early years,ISRO was established with a different name in 1962 and got its present name in 1969, First Rocket was launched in 1963, First Satellite in 1975, Rohini Satellite in 1980,INSAT 1B in 1983,INSAT-2A in 1992, Chandrayaan 1 in 2008, Chandrayaan 2 in 2019, Chandrayaan 3 in 2023, Besides these Mangalyaan in 2013 and in 2014 India became first country to reach Martian Orbit.
Polar Satellite launch vehicles and Geostationary satellite launch vehicles were developed for launching of heavier vehicles up into the space.
ISRO a Brain Child of Pandit Nehru, now provides training and capacity building programs for International partners because anything in India is comparatively Cost effective.
National Space Day highlights India’s growing stature and presence in space exploration and its commitment in pushing the boundaries of Scientific Research, exploration and Knowledge. The celebration aims to spark interest in STEM education and motivate young minds to pursue careers in space science and technology.
